Am I sure the files
for output are complete and correct?
Have I remembered the following:.
Colour Information
- Verify the number
of colours in the job. Specify if
the colours are CMYK
or Pantone. List
the Pantone colours required, if applicable.
- If the job is
a CMYK job, remembered to
convert all images to CMYK?
Image Information
- Include
all images with the print job.
- Verify that
all images are at 300 dpi
resolution. (Internet/web images are
usually at 72 dpi, and while they
may look good on the screen, they'll
look fuzzy when printed.)
- Verify that
all line-art and line-drawings were
scanned at 1200 dpi
(optical) or higher.
- Ensure that
any drawn images of logos and/or logo-text
have been converted to paths/outlines
to prevent problems with missing fonts.
- Provide
images in EPS, TIFF or JPEG formats.
(Image formats other than the ones
specified are usually not acceptable,
example: PowerPoint or Word Documents.)
Font
Information
- Ensure all
fonts were included with
the job; this includes Printer fonts
and Screen fonts.
Miscellaneous
- Ensure that
all pages have been proofed
for typographical errors.
- Specify
bleeds where applicable.
(Bleeds are usually set to 1/8 of
an inch.)
- Verify that
all pages have been proofed for
knockout and/or overprinting.
- Supply
a composite proof (laser
or color) at 100% size of the FINAL
file provided for output.
