How
do I prepare images for DVD?
To prepare your images
for DVD, follow these helpful hints.
- Set the size of
the canvas to 720 x 540 - D1 Standard
- Image content
(text, pictures, buttons, etc.) should
stay withing the video safe
area of the background, which is 640X400.
- Once graphic is
created resize the graphic to 720X480.
Keep your 720 x 540 graphic as backup
copy.
- Avoid
the use of fine lines,
as they may be lost or will display
a distorted image when played through
a television monitor.
- Make sure to keep
all text at least 21 pts
or larger. Avoid sans serif
fonts if possible.
- Avoid
using the following colours:
bright reds, yellows and whites. Use
NTSC (Broadcast) Safe Colors.
- Save
the file as a 2 layered Photoshop
file (.psd). The
bottom layer should be the background,
and the top layer the highlighted
buttons. Fully layered psd files are
required if you wish for us to prep
your graphics. (It is recommended
to always submit a fully layered photoshop
file)
- Do
not use gradients or
bevels in the highlighted
areas.
